Julieta turned 2 months(1 month ago) and we decided to make a trip to the mountains, to show her the beautiful Parang Mountains landscapes from our country. We kept on showing her the trees, the fog, rivers, rocks and moss but she wasn’t very interested, all she wanted was milk and sleep, milk and sleep..she also didn’t cooperate for the schedule we’ve planned to get on time to the hut, so I had to learn to feed her while climbing the mountain, as she started crying and we had little time ’till sunset and the land was not appropriate for placing a tent. It was a tough climbing and at one moment I really felt it was too exhausting, she sensed that as well and became very cranky. Shortly we got to a river. Radu tested the pass. He came with two news: a bad and a good one. The water was very cold..but we’ve made it to the hut on rock 🙂 We’ve passed through the ice-cold water to get there, but later, on return, we found there was another path that had the passing on a footbridge.
I was so happy to be in the cottage away from bears, since it was all I could think of while climbing. The cottage was built on top of a huge rock and from outside it looked like one of those fairytales tree huts. Even though it was cold and dirty and our shoes were wet, it felt so comforting to sleep in a safe place. We failed to make a fire but we had a small gas bottle for a hot soup. We almost ruined the camera while making these photos, when we dashed in the dark in the tripod and slammed it down the floor. It was the second time we experienced this, but it seems we’ve been inspired to add some extra protection(clear filter and plastic exterior circle) for camera’s lens.
It was a long, cold night, but the down sleeping bags were even more than we needed. Juli woke up more often for feeding so I had extra time to hear animal sounds from the forest. We’ve even been visited by a mouse searching for food in our bags, in the middle of the night.
In the morning we thought wether we should continue to climb on top of the mountain(since it was fairly close) or begin to descend. We were already on alpine area at 1900m but it was a tricky weather, partially rainy and foggy. We continued to climb for another hour, then we took a short break for breakfast. We missed seeing the beautiful lakes and the views from the top as we decided to return. I couldn’t believe how fast we descended the mountain, it was so relaxing since there wasn’t any hard work, and we took some time to actually see things around and to take pictures. Here we found a heavenly place with moss, mushrooms and ferns where I’ve made a cute shooting for Juli(please notice her thematic body 🙂 and it was not even on purpose).
Hi Meda. I started looking at your blog for the fashion & beauty but your travels are much more inspiring and interesting. You are so lucky to be able to walk through such beautiful mountains and thank you for sharing your photos. Juli is lucky to have parents who understand the importance of appreciating natural environment & I hope she continues to enjoy such trips as she gets older. Love, Olympia in London
Thanks, Olympia for the feedback! Even though most parents fear to take the little ones out, to experience adventures, I don’t think there’s a real reason for that. The little ones need to get in contact with nature just as we do, so we’ll surely travel the world with Juli if she’ll enjoy it 🙂
Buna,
O zi frumoasa!
Salut, Rami!
