It was Saturday and we were heading to Kathisma – one of the most touristic beaches in Lefkada..or at least this is what I thought. I was absolutely sure it’s going to be full of locals and tourists during the weekend, but surprise! Not a single human on the beach, not even on the most accessible part where umbrellas lie, but we still walked on the beach for a while, to find a perfect place to spread our blanket.
Meet the single seagull from the beach, he’s a super casual guy… you might think he wants something from us, guys, but he doesn’t, he’s just casually hanging around, no interest at all, no cheese, no nothing..
Kathisma is a very long beach, like most of Lefkada’s west beaches and not the most beautiful to admire, but there were no waves this day, so we had a lot of fun in the water.
At it’s end, the beach it’s really deserted, even if a small road passes just near it. I single couple came from somewhere up the hill to take a short swimming break, from their little construction. We could notice they were building a little hut from things found in nature.
I wore crochet shirt(Zara), jeans shorts(Pull and bear) and accessories purchased from Lefkada. I have to tell you that these shootings on the beach were really hard to make because Lefkada’s sand it’s a little different from other places..you always sink, there’s nothing you can do to stay on top of it..so hard for walking, also!
These are the last photos taken on the beach, interrupted by a viper snake, right in the place where we would have liked to take a night photo using the tripod, near the road..the last place we’ve expected to find one. But this is another proof of the wilderness of these places, as these creatures only choose secluded places to live!
We were close to Agios Nikitas, so we’ve spent the evening taking our dinner at Klimataria, the restaurant we’ve passed near some days ago when we returned from Milos beach, with a nice atmosphere and live Greek music. Such a lovely place, we had greek salad, octopus, squid, tzatziki.. very good food, even the cats fought for a little piece as the stakes were high! 🙂 Some people complain that the servings are too small here, it’s a bit hard to say because we usually don’t eat large meals, for us it was more than enough.
some of the best photos i have see about LEFKAS !!! GOOD WORK and thanks for coming here regards vasilis
Thank you so much, Vasilis!}{
