Mr Probz – Waves (Official Video) [Robin Schulz Remix]
A long long time ago, when we still had time to watch movies, we used to watch several episodes from Lost Series each evening. The first episodes were really catchy but they dragged it out too much and it became boring, although I continued to watch it solely for the wonderful landscapes from Hawaii. I used to consider Hawaii as American’s “fabricated” cool destinations, just like Thailand later became one and I always said I would avoid this trap. But the truth is that each place is unique and beautiful in its own way and Hawaii does indeed have something unique! When you see a postcard with Hawaii, you’ll know for sure it’s no other place! Maui is also on top destination of Hollywood stars, definitely for a reason.
“The second largest Hawaiian island has a smaller population than you’d expect, making Maui popular with visitors who are looking for sophisticated diversions and amenities in the small, intimate towns peppered throughout the island. Maui’s unique vistas also make it a much anticipated destination. From beaches that have repeatedly been voted among the best in the world to the scenic heights of Haleakala Crater, a visit to “The Magic Isle” recharges the senses. But like every good magic trick, you’ll have to see it for yourself to believe it.”
After watching Lost, I’m sure anyone would imagine hiking the Hawaii mountains, walking in the lush jungle or sunbathing on those stunning black-sand beaches. For this and for other reasons I choose to visit Hawaii some time ago. Hawaii has many islands, very different from one another, and solely choosing between them it’s a hard time, but it would also make a big difference in your experience. We visited two of Hawaii’s islands: Maui and Kauai.
One that I’m going to talk about in this post, is Maui, a tropical, lush, gem island, where every place looks like was carefully maintained and each flower or plant sowed intentionally. More or less it was so! When you walk through Maui’s forests you’ll think you’ve landed in the Garden of Eden. Everything looks perfect and too good to be real. You’ll think I might have a problem, but I’m not sure I liked that! For this reason, I’d choose Kauai over Maui. Kauai has a natural type of beauty, it’s still lush but more wild. But Maui has its own wild parts as well, you just need to get enough time to discover it and learn how to avoid the crowds, especially on the popular Road to Hana which needs to be discovered from the end to the beginning.
We’ve bathed in multi-layered waterfalls ponds and we’ve eaten guavas and passion fruits from the trees. Guavas were everywhere, it was actually the most spread fruit in Maui, or maybe it was the season. There were so many that one time we found a waterfall pond that was all covered up by guavas floating to the surface. The path were all covered in smashed guavas as well! We ate tons of this fruit that has a strong, exotic flavour, for this reason from one point it was repulsive and when I found one, full of worms, I said: No more GUAVAS!! Considering I was pregnant then, I think I’ve been really reasonable. In Maui, I discovered the passion fruit. This fruit is probably the most flavoured I’ve ever tried, it’s sour, but it’s so so good. The pineapple is also much tastier than what we have imported.
We’ve stayed at Ocean Breeze Retreat (view it on tripadvisor), an amazing guest house with a very beautiful, endless garden and a pool. We had one room at the floor and we loved it so much that we decided to stay more, and we rented the studio from upstairs, which was really a dream! What I loved the most, after a tiring day hiking and walking in the jungle, was to prepare the most delicious shakes and cocktails with the fruits we would have picked that day and watch the sunset with the exotic, stunning landscape.
