This video from Metallica was also filmed in desert near Los Angeles and the view is similar to what we’ve seen during this part of the trip to the Grand Canyon. The music is also great so enjoy!
The Grand Canyon is a very touristic place but it’s definitely impressive and worth to visit. Whether to view from the top or make a trail depends on how much time you’d like to spend there. Trails are also pretty strenuous as there’s no shadow along the way and it’s generally steep. We choose not to make any trails since the time was short and we had plenty to visit. From Las Vegas to Grand Canyon we travelled through Arizona’s desert, while the sites are beautiful, the heat is really exhausting. Planning to visits on sunset is perfect both for temperature and the views. We arrived a little too late but since we didn’t take any trail we considered it was enough. All hotels rooms were booked near the Grand Canyon so we continued to drive and we stopped to a motel on the side of the road. It was the first time we slept in one and I loved this experience, but of course, we checked first for impressions on web, as my sister warned us about the popular bed bugs in US, which I didn’t even know they existed! I still don’t know how she accepted us back in her house without a complete checkout on return! We ate so many watermelons in this road trip, melons are so delicious in US, unlike the 90% of their food, but more about my food experience in US in another pots.
