Lana Del Rey – Summertime Sadness (Sllash Remix)
This post comes as a continuation of my previous post about Maui, Hawaii. Our stay in Maui was wonderful so we decided to rent the studio upstairs for a few days more. One of my favourites moments from our trip to Maui was when, after a full day of hiking in Maui’s mountain trails, swimming in waterfalls ponds, walking in the woods and harvesting exotic fruits – many of them which we didn’t even know, we would arrive to the amazing Ocean Breeze Retreat (view it on tripadvisor) guest house, reading on web about the unknown fruits we had harvested that day and prepare the most delicious cocktails while watching the beautiful sunset from upstairs studio.
One of these cocktails is also one of my favourites now, and I often prepare it for Holidays or when we just want something special to serve. It would surely be great to always have the fresh fruits harvested right from their growing land but of course that’s not always possible, however we can pay attention so the fruits are all very well ripe. I would personally choose the mini pineapples instead of the average ones(that is if you don’t live where pineapples grow of course, because big pineapple in Hawaii were just amazing) since their taste is a lot better, but another good choice would be the canned pineapple, without preservatives, because they are usually canned when pineapples are in season, therefor have better taste. You can choose to make it alcoholic or nonalcoholic. I love both versions.
For this cocktail you need to mix in a blender the following:
• a pineapple or a canned pineapple
• as many passion fruits as possible but at least 3 I would say, because this fruit gives very good, intense flavour to the cocktail. You need to separate the juice from the seeds and use only the juice
• some guavas(but you can skip this if you don’t have them)
• 1 cup of coconut milk(optional. I’ve added this recently and it gives a very good flavour as well)
• if it’s not sweet enough you can add extra sugar or other sweeteners
• amaretto works very good if you choose to make it alcoholic, but sometimes I make it without amaretto
